Try Symbian Belle Early as Nokia 701 and Nokia 700 Are Now Shipping, Will Be Available In Stores Soonest

Today, Nokia announced that the two Symbian Belle devices, Nokia 701 and Nokia 700, are on the way to stores near you.
These two devices runs on the latest Symbian Belle, the update after Symbian Anna, and were announced together with Nokia 600. Also these three smartphones are packed with NFC (Near Field Communication), the latest wireless technology that are yet to boom.

Nokia official Symbian Belle site, with videos

As noted by Nokialino and others, Nokia has a page dedicated to the attractions of Symbian Belle, including a number of well done videos (one is embedded below). Each of the three new smartphones are featured in detail and there's even a shout out to the likes of the N8, C7 and E7 as being fully Symbian Belle compatible, with the update to come 'later'.


Update: This Nokia mini-site is not new. The page went live on August 24th, the day that Symbian Belle was announced, but it still represents a good summary of the latest software update for Symbian.

Normally I wouldn't post an eight minute video of anything...It is just too long for this type of format. However this time I am going to make an exception. The guys over at Nsquared have blown me away with this demo using a Windows Phone, a tablet, Microsoft Surface, Kinect and "big screen". Even if you only watch the first two minutes of it you will be amazed. I want every gadget in this video in my home right now.

Nokia 701 with Symbian Belle vs Nokia C7-00 with Symbian Anna Comparison – What are the differences?

After few days of having the Nokia 701, it came up to my mind that I should do a comparison with Nokia C7-00 due to their similarities in design and other features.


So below, I shot a short video comparison of Nokia 701 running on Symbian Belle and Nokia C7-00 running on Symbian Anna. I also highlighted their differences in video and put Nokia X7 and N8 on the last part of the video for a little treat to you.


Differences:

• Symbian Belle is the on-board Symbian^3 release on 701 while Nokia C7 has the Symbian Anna. Update to Belle is Q4 this year.


• Nokia 701 has 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM – Nokia C7 has 680MHz CPU, 256MB RAM


• Nokia 701 uses LED backlit IPS display with Clear Black Display, the brightest – Nokia C7 uses AMOLED display all at 3.5″

Nokia 701 Video Demo

Here is a video from blog.gsmarena that shows off exactly how impressive Symbian Belle is combined with a 1Ghz processor and 512MB of RAM. I mean this thing is snappy with no lag at all. Sadly this phone will probably never see the light of day here in the US and I will have to wait for the Windows Phone version, the 703.

Nokia 701 8MP Camera Test – HD Video and Still Images Samples

As one of the luckiest bloggers that WOMWorld brought in Hong Kong last week, Nokia showered us with a treat of bringing the newest Nokia smartphones to try out for couple of weeks so I chose the Nokia 701 to try whilst my other friends went to Nokia 700 and 600. Nokia 700 has the brightest screen with 3.5″ IPS display with CBD technology, 1Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 8MP camera and running on Symbian Belle.


During we’re in HK we have had the opportunity to use these devices and my Nokia 701 was my primary cameraphone as we tour the majestic places there. So below are the few still and video shots I’ve captured with 701′s 8MP snapper. Although it’s on Full Focus and it can’t do some close up shots still the device performed well as a cameraphone both in video and still.

I am really loving the way that Belle build is shaping up. It is smoother than all other versions of Symbian and it the most customizable I have ever seen. The really crazy thing about this video is that this not even the finished product it is just a leaked build....it will get even better before it reaches your phone! Enjoy!
